TrainRec by Manifest Post, Inc.
Connect your AI assistant to TrainRec
Connect your assistant once, then plan workouts, log food and check your progress by asking in plain words. Everything it saves shows up in the TrainRec app.
Before you start
- A TrainRec account. It's free in the TrainRec app.
- The Connect plan, or Coach, which includes it. You'll find plans in the app under You.
Claude
- In the Claude app or on claude.ai, open Settings, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector.
- Name it TrainRec and enter this URL:
https://api.trainrec.app/mcp - Choose Connect, then sign in on the TrainRec page that opens and approve. It takes under a minute, with no password.
- In a chat, open the tools menu and make sure TrainRec is switched on.
Once TrainRec is listed in Claude's connector directory, you'll also be able to find it there by name and connect it in one step.
Grok
- On grok.com, open Connectors, choose New Connector, then Custom.
- Enter this URL:
https://api.trainrec.app/mcp - Sign in on the TrainRec page that opens and approve. It takes under a minute, with no password.
- Ask Grok about your training or food, and it answers from your TrainRec log.
Other AI assistants
TrainRec works with any AI assistant that supports custom MCP connectors. In your assistant's settings, add TrainRec with the URL above. Then sign in on the TrainRec page that opens and approve.
ChatGPT
Today TrainRec connects through ChatGPT's developer mode, on the web, which is in beta on paid ChatGPT plans. Its menus change often, so if a step looks different, OpenAI's help page has the current path. TrainRec is also on its way to ChatGPT's apps directory, and these steps get simpler once it's listed.
- On chatgpt.com, open Settings, then Apps, then Advanced settings, and turn on Developer mode.
- Add a custom app named TrainRec, with this URL:
https://api.trainrec.app/mcp - Sign in on the TrainRec page that opens and approve. It takes under a minute, with no password.
- Start a new chat, type @ and pick TrainRec, then ask about your training or food.
What you can ask
- "Plan my week: two runs and a yoga class."
- "I had a chicken burrito for lunch."
- "How did my running go this month?"
- "Move Thursday's workout to Friday."
- "Set my calories to 2,300 with 180 g protein."
What your assistant can do
Once connected, your assistant can read and change your workouts, routines, food, targets, body measurements and settings.
- Every change it makes shows in TrainRec under Profile, then Changes, where you can undo it.
- It never deletes your account.
Disconnect
- In TrainRec, tap Profile, then your assistant, then Disconnect.
- Also remove TrainRec in your assistant's own connector settings.
Privacy
Your assistant sees your log only after you approve it on the TrainRec sign-in page. See the privacy policy for what each service receives.
