Move your MyFitnessPal history into TrainRec
MyFitnessPal Premium can export your food, weight and exercise history as CSV files. Export a date range, then hand the files to your assistant, which brings your meals and weigh-ins into TrainRec.
How it gets in
Best results: your assistant. A connected assistant reads any export whole, fixes dates and units as it goes, and can bring in food and measurements, not just workouts. Coach, the chat built into TrainRec, is best for telling it what you did and for small pasted pieces. The other routes are there when you'd rather not involve either.
Through your assistantConnect or CoachBest results
Export the file from MyFitnessPal, attach it in your connected assistant's chat (Claude today) and say "Import this into TrainRec". It reads the whole file, sorts out odd dates, units and exercise names, and moves everything in with TrainRec's import tools, as one batch you can undo in one tap. With Coach, the chat built into TrainRec, describe what you did ("log my last two weeks: bench 3x5 at 185 on Monday...") or paste a small piece of the export, up to about a couple of weeks at a time. If something looks off afterward, just say so and it fixes it.
No export? Use screenshotsConnect plan
If you'd rather not pay for the MyFitnessPal export: Take screenshots of a few typical days in your MyFitnessPal diary, attach them in your connected assistant's chat and say "Set up my usual meals and targets in TrainRec from these." It doesn't need your whole history, just enough to see what you usually eat.
Each entry your assistant adds is marked with its name in Changes, so you can check what came in and undo anything that's wrong. Screenshots work with a connected assistant. Coach takes typed messages only, so tell Coach your routine or usual meals in words instead.
Export from MyFitnessPal
A ZIP with three CSV files: nutrition by meal (calories, macros and micronutrients), progress (weight, neck, waist and hips) and exercise. Exporting needs a paid MyFitnessPal plan.
- Open the export. On the web, log in at myfitnesspal.com and open Reports, then Export. On iPhone, open More (or your profile), then Nutrition, then Export at the top right.
- Pick a date range. Choose the range you want and tap Export My Information. MyFitnessPal emails you a link.
- Download the files. Open the email on a computer and download the ZIP. Unzip it to get the three CSV files.
- Give them to your assistant. Attach the files in your assistant's chat and say "Import this into TrainRec".
- Check it in TrainRec. Your history shows up on the calendar and in your records. Something look off? Ask your assistant to fix it. You can also undo the whole batch from Changes.
On Android
- Open the export. Open More, then Progress or Nutrition, then the export icon at the top right.
- Send it. Confirm your email, choose the date range and tap Export.
Good to know
- The nutrition file totals each meal rather than listing every food, so meals arrive as meal totals with their calories and macros.
- The email goes to the address you signed up with unless you changed it in Email Settings first.
