Can ChatGPT track my workouts?

ChatGPT can plan workouts and answer questions about them, but a chat is not a log. Past chats scroll away, and it can mix up numbers from weeks ago. To keep a real record, give your assistant a workout log it can read and update, such as TrainRec (coming soon), so the plan runs on your phone and every set you finish is saved where you can see it.

ChatGPT is good at planning a workout and explaining it. What it doesn’t do on its own is keep a record. The numbers live inside chats, and chats scroll away.

What a log adds

A log is the record your assistant reads from. With one connected, you can ask “what did I squat last month?” and get the number you actually lifted.

How to set it up with TrainRec

  1. Get TrainRec on your phone. It’s coming soon to iPhone and Android.
  2. Connect your assistant. There’s no password to make up.
  3. Ask your assistant for a plan. It appears in the app, and the app walks you through it one set at a time.
  4. When you finish, ask how it went. Your assistant reads what you did and adjusts what’s next.

Every change shows whether you or your assistant made it. You can undo any of it.

Also asked

Does ChatGPT remember my workouts from last week?

Only loosely. It may recall some things from past chats, but it is not a reliable record of sets, weights or distances. A connected log gives it the real numbers every time.

Can ChatGPT write my workout plan?

Yes. When it can read your log, it can plan from what you have actually done instead of guessing.
