Move your Alpha Progression history into TrainRec
Alpha Progression can export your plans, workout history and body measurements as a CSV file on its free tier. Export it, then hand it to your assistant, which moves it into TrainRec.
How it gets in
Best results: your assistant. A connected assistant reads any export whole, fixes dates and units as it goes, and can bring in food and measurements, not just workouts. Coach, the chat built into TrainRec, is best for telling it what you did and for small pasted pieces. The other routes are there when you'd rather not involve either.

Export the file from Alpha Progression, attach it in your connected assistant's chat (Claude today) and say "Import this into TrainRec". It reads the whole file, sorts out odd dates, units and exercise names, and moves everything in with TrainRec's import tools, as one batch you can undo in one tap. With Coach, the chat built into TrainRec, describe what you did ("log my last two weeks: bench 3x5 at 185 on Monday...") or paste a small piece of the export, up to about a couple of weeks at a time. If something looks off afterward, just say so and it fixes it.
Export from Alpha Progression
Your plans, full workout history, custom exercises and body measurements, as CSV. You can email it, download it or copy it to the clipboard.
We couldn't find an official Alpha Progression help page for this export, so these steps come from the app itself and may have moved.
- Find the export. Alpha Progression's export is in the app's settings. Its help pages don't give the exact menu, so look for Export or CSV there.
- Save the file. Choose to download the CSV or email it to yourself.
- Give it to your assistant. Attach the file in your assistant's chat and say "Import this into TrainRec".
- Check it in TrainRec. Your history shows up on the calendar and in your records. Something look off? Ask your assistant to fix it. You can also undo the whole batch from Changes.
Good to know
- If the numbers look shifted, the file may use semicolons between columns. Your assistant handles either.
