Move your Boostcamp history into TrainRec

Boostcamp doesn't offer a file export. The quickest way across is a few screenshots of your program and recent workouts, given to your connected assistant, which sets up your routine and current weights in TrainRec. Boostcamp workouts can also come in through Apple Health.

How it gets in

Best results: your assistant. A connected assistant reads any export whole, fixes dates and units as it goes, and can bring in food and measurements, not just workouts. Coach, the chat built into TrainRec, is best for telling it what you did and for small pasted pieces. The other routes are there when you'd rather not involve either.

  • No export? Use screenshotsConnect planBest results

Take screenshots of your current program and your last two or three weeks in Boostcamp, attach them in your connected assistant's chat and say "Set up my routine in TrainRec from these." It doesn't need every workout you've ever done, just enough to see your routine and your current weights.

Each entry your assistant adds is marked with its name in Changes, so you can check what came in and undo anything that's wrong. Screenshots work with a connected assistant. Coach takes typed messages only, so tell Coach your routine or usual meals in words instead.

  • On its own, through Apple HealthEvery plan, on iPhone

Turn on Apple Health sync in TrainRec (Profile, then Sync with Apple Health) and allow the kinds of data you want. Anything Boostcamp has written to Apple Health shows up in TrainRec by itself: workouts as sessions with time, distance, calories and heart rate, plus weigh-ins, body fat, blood pressure, resting heart rate, HRV and sleep. Set-by-set lifting detail and food don't travel through Health, so use your assistant for those.

Export from Boostcamp

  1. Turn on Apple Health in Boostcamp. In Boostcamp's settings, allow it to save workouts to Apple Health. TrainRec then brings those in as sessions.
  2. Tell your assistant your program. Say which program you run and where you are in it, like "I'm in week 5 of a 4-day upper/lower program." It builds the plan in TrainRec.
  3. Add your recent numbers. Read off your last few weeks of top sets, like "bench 3x5 at 185 last Monday". Your assistant logs them on the right days.
  4. Check it in TrainRec. Your history shows up on the calendar and in your records. Something look off? Ask your assistant to fix it. You can also undo the whole batch from Changes.

Good to know

  • Apple Health brings in each workout's time and calories, not the sets. Your recent sets come in through your assistant.
