Move your Hevy history into TrainRec

Export your workouts from Hevy as a CSV file, then hand it to your assistant or import it straight into TrainRec from the Profile tab. Every workout, exercise, set, weight and rep comes across. Your measurements export as a second file your assistant can bring in.

How it gets in

Best results: your assistant. A connected assistant reads any export whole, fixes dates and units as it goes, and can bring in food and measurements, not just workouts. Coach, the chat built into TrainRec, is best for telling it what you did and for small pasted pieces. The other routes are there when you'd rather not involve either.

  • Through your assistantConnect or CoachBest results

Export the file from Hevy, attach it in your connected assistant's chat (Claude today) and say "Import this into TrainRec". It reads the whole file, sorts out odd dates, units and exercise names, and moves everything in with TrainRec's import tools, as one batch you can undo in one tap. With Coach, the chat built into TrainRec, describe what you did ("log my last two weeks: bench 3x5 at 185 on Monday...") or paste a small piece of the export, up to about a couple of weeks at a time. If something looks off afterward, just say so and it fixes it.

  • Directly, in the appEvery plan, including Free

In TrainRec, open Profile, then Import workouts, and pick the file from Hevy. No assistant needed. Everything lands as one batch, and one tap undoes it.

Export from Hevy

The workout file has one row per set, with the workout title, start and end time, exercise, set type, weight, reps, distance and duration. Measurements are a separate file.

  1. Open Hevy's settings. In Hevy, open Profile, then Settings.
  2. Find the export. Tap Export & Import Data, then Export Data.
  3. Export your workouts. Tap Export Workouts and save the file. Tap Export Measurements for your body data.
  4. Bring it into TrainRec. Attach the file in your assistant's chat and say "Import this into TrainRec". Or pick the workout file in TrainRec under Profile, then Import workouts.
  5. Check it in TrainRec. Your history shows up on the calendar and in your records. Something look off? Ask your assistant to fix it. You can also undo the whole batch from Changes.

Good to know

  • The direct import needs Hevy's dates in English. If Hevy is set to another language, give the file to your assistant instead and it converts the dates.
  • Routines aren't in the export. Ask your assistant to rebuild them from your history.

Also asked

Does Hevy work on Apple Watch?

Yes. Hevy's Apple Watch app logs sets, starts rest timers and finishes the workout without your phone.

Does Hevy work with Garmin?

Not today. Hevy says Garmin turned down its request for access, so there's no Garmin connection for now. The TrainRec app on your Garmin follows your plan set by set, and your Hevy history can come into TrainRec too. See how to import from Garmin Connect at trainrec.app/import/garmin-connect.

Does Hevy sync with Strava?

Yes, one way. Hevy can post each finished workout to your Strava feed automatically (Profile, the gear icon, then Integrations). Workouts you record in Strava don't come back to Hevy. Your Strava runs and rides can come into TrainRec too, so one log holds both: trainrec.app/import/strava.

How much does Hevy cost?

Hevy is free to use. Hevy Pro adds unlimited routines and custom exercises. On the US App Store in October 2026 it was $2.99 a month or $23.99 a year. There's also a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices vary by country and offer.

Can I bring my Hevy routines?

Routines aren't in Hevy's export. Every workout comes across with its exercises, sets and weights, so ask your assistant to rebuild your routines as a weekly plan from your history.

Can I move from Strong to Hevy?

Yes. Hevy imports a Strong CSV (in English) from Profile, Settings, then Export & Import Data. TrainRec reads both apps' files, so you can keep your whole history together whichever one you used.
